SIKKIM STATE CO-OPERATIVE SUPPLY AND MARKETING FEDERATION LTD.


In order to coordinate bulk-consumer distribution functions, farm surplus marketing and farm input supply functions of the primary Coops. The state Govt. in consultation with Central Government/ National Agriculture Coop. Marketing Federation (NAFED)/ National Coop. Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) & National Coop. Development Corporation (NCDC), the Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (SIMFED) was established in 1984. The Federation over a period of time was also expected to implement the functions of State Civil Supplies Corporation.

The federation is mainly dealing in marketing of agriculture surplus and supply of farm inputs besides wholesaling and distribution of consumer items from central godown located at Rangpo. In addition, the federation is also engaged in supply of school uniform, textbook and furniture/equipments to the Government Department. Currently, the federation is extending its services through four branches situated at Jorethang, Mangan, Gangtok and Rangpo.

The Board of Directors consists of 12 members of which five are from State Govt., one from financial bank and four representatives from various primary cooperatives.
