Transfer Of Fund to Zilla and Gram

 Consequent upon the devolution of power to the PRI, Rs. 5, 89,000/- and 13, 75,000/- has been transferred to 4 Zillas and Gram Panchayat Units respectively.  The Department has already framed guidelines for implementation of the above fund. With the view to diversify the business and promote Marketing of Agricultural produce, the Department proposes to transfer the fund to Multipurpose Cooperative Societies for promotion of marketing activities in the Gram Panchayats. This fund will serve as working capital for the MPCS to enable them to generate minimum sustainable income and provide remunerative prices to the producer members.

 The Scheme shall be implemented by the MPCS in the following manner:

1. The funds shall be exclusively used for procurement and Marketing of Agricultural & Horticulture produce of the Gram Panchayat Unit.

2. The fund thus transferred to the Multipurpose Cooperative Societies shall serve as the working Capital for carrying out the marketing activities.

3. The Multipurpose Cooperative Societies shall built up a corpus fund duly opening a separate savings account in SISCO Bank and utilize  the said amount for marketing of Agri& Horti produces of Members  and replenish the same  at the end of the every financial year. In case the requirement of the MPCS is more than the allotted fund, the Society shall prepare a project and approach SISCO Bank for Financing.

4.  SIMFED shall provide logistic support to the MPCS and issue separate guidelines for effective implementation of the Marketing programme.

5. Timely supervision of the operation of the corpus fund shall be done by the District /Sub-division Office of the Department with the support and coordination of the concern Zilla and Gram Panchayat Members.

6. The fund earmarked under PRI for 2008-09 shall be disbursed to the MPCS in the manner as indicated below :
