Committee for NCDC’s Award for Cooperative
Excellence. The meeting was attended by all

Office Order No. 159/Coop of dated 25/07/08.
The attendance to the meeting is appended
below
At the
outset, Chairman of the Committee welcomed
all to the meeting. Thereafter, the Chairman
informed the meeting about the importance of
the Award and how it would help boost the
morale of a cooperative society in
furthering their performance. Though the
Committee had received four filled up
application forms for the Award, the
Committee decided to take up the case of
only two MPCSs. They are as under;
1. Mangan MPCS Ltd.
- North Sikkim
2. Luing Perbing MPCS Ltd.
- East Sikkim.
The other two
societies were rejected as they did not have
credit business which is one of the
eligibility criteria. The meeting
deliberated at length and decided in favour
of recommending the name of Mangan MPCS Ltd.
for the award as it fulfilled all the
eligibility criteria as laid down by NCDC
besides the added following reasons;
a.
This society is headed by a Woman
President.
b.
Quantum of social service rendered by
this society is higher
c.
The society is running its business
in a tribal and remote area under hostile
terrain.
Therefore, the meeting
unanimously decided to forward the documents
of the above two societies for the Award
with the request that the Chairman further
request NCDC to consider both the societies
from our state as the cooperative societies
are all functioning under difficult
conditions.
The meeting ended with a
vote of thanks to the chair.
Member Secretary,
